Hi, I’m Miriam, and I am an interstitionary.
Strange word – I know. It basically means I am a FACILITATOR of CONNECTION.
For a long time, I believed that I had to be one thing, or the other.
Clinical or grassroots
Evidence based or traditional
Political or professional
Until I realised that was not only BS, but compromising my ability to be an excellent practitioner.
I did not want to squeeze into an either/or box, or cleave off half of myself in order to fit in.
And I knew there must be other praccies who felt the same way.
I created The Root Network for us, and because I could not find anywhere else within the wellness industry that could hold it all.
A gathering place for everyone who did not want to fit inside spaces that were small, straight and narrow.
Because alongside all our tools and techniques, the medicine the world needs is people who are able to hold conflict and complexity with compassion and curiosity.
The dissatisfaction you feel with the industry? It’s because wellness is about so much more than celery juice and supplements.
Healing in its original form was about the edge dweller, the radical, the village witch who lived at the frontier of the wild and the known.
The truth seeker.
The one who saw the relationship between the health of their community and the health of the environment, and whose job was to hold those things in balance.
Now health has become granular, sanitised and tame.
You came to wellness because you heard the deeper call.
And were left feeling dissatisfied - desperately craving something you couldn’t quite articulate.

The Root Network is designed to be super do-able. It’s been running a year now, and I have put so much effort into adjusting it so that it is full of value, yet fits within people’s capacities.
